What we are looking for:

Experienced communications or digital marketing professional with a speciality in social media optimisation and engagement? We're looking for a Communications and Social Media Officer to join our team at Fraser Coast Regional Council to take responsibility for our social media sites. You'll ensure our messaging is appropriate and reaching the correct audiences and reflective of current trends. You'll play a key role in determining our communication strategies and setting our forward work plan.

The role will involve:

  • Creating content for our social media platforms that engage the desired audiences
  • Monitoring online conversations and responses, maintaining a safe and fair online space
  • Reporting on and analysing performance of our platforms
  • Working closely with other team members in the planning and execution of campaigns
  • Providing photography and using graphic design tools
  • Identifying and incorporating social media trends

What you should have to apply:

You'll have a number of years experience in a similar role and will enjoy the part you play in educating and engaging your local communities. You'll be confident using a variety of resources to create meaningful social media content and will be able to use analytics to report on their success. You'll have experience working on campaigns of various levels and will have a strong understanding of different engagement techniques.

You'll have:

  • Ideally a tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, PR or journalism
  • The ability to build genuine relationships with both internal and external contacts
