Our client manufactors Steel racking products in Belrose and is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the Factory Team in Belrose.


About the role:


You will be servicing manufacturing equipment at the facility in accordance to the machine specifications and maintenance schedule, whilst identifying process improvement opportunities.


The role will require you to:

  • Inspect and maintain equipment regularly to ensure optimum production
  • Assist with machine setup processes
  • Complete mechanical/electrical preventative maintenance as per schedule
  • Resolve equipment faults/breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Continues improvement activities to optimise production capacity
  • Manage allocated assets including spare parts and tools
  • Promote and follow health and safety processes throughout the facility
  • Must be flexible to work day and some afternoon shifts when required
  • This role requires weekly Saturday overtime either half day and some full days as required

Skills and experience:

  • Certificate III in Engineering
  • Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner) qualification (mandatory)
  • Experience with mechanical and pneumatic systems, and automation in a manufacturing environment is an advantage
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Understanding of OH&S requirements
  • Exposure to PLC systems desired, training can be provided
  • Ability to work in isolation and make decisions
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective ongoing relationships
  • Ability to work a varying roster pattern when required to provide shift coverage to production team day/afternoon shifts and Saturday overtime shift.
