About the Role


Reporting to the Financial Transactional Services Manager, you will lead a team of finance transactional and accounts payable staff to manage the procure to payment functions within LWB.


You will maintain an effective and efficient accounting system involving accounts payable functions, to ensure process integrity and that the business is financially positioned for sustainable growth.

This a permanent full time role and can be located in either Brisbane or Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Procure to Payment team to provide timely and accurate procure to pay functions including:
  • Processing requisitions for goods or services to enable procurement of goods / services in line with LWB terms
  • Processing of invoices for payment including undertaking 3way match protocols
- process payments to vendors and suppliers from all sources
- for all transactions, ensure correct coding and compliance to GST and other taxation requirements
- process and reconcile petty cash floats
- prepare month end reporting

  • Maintain vendor Masterfile maintenance and appropriate controls and data cleansing protocols
  • Analyse accounts payable ageing and other accounts payable reports as required
  • Ensure the effective implementation and rollout of new systems or process improvements
  • Develop and implement l procure to payment strategies which offer costeffective solutions
  • Develop and maintain documentation and user guides and other training manuals for Procure to payment processes
  • Develop and maintain industry and organisational knowledge of matters relating to Procure to pay functions
  • Ensure the procure to pay knowledge, skills and experience aligns with services provided by the broader Finance Transactional Services team
  • Assist in ensuring that any new or existing risks, issues or errors are escalated to the Manager.
  • Actively contribute to the implementation of organisational projects, strategies and initiatives

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting and or related discipline and or experience deemed equivalent in a high volume, dynamic environment
  • Significant experience in leading an end to end procurement to accounts payable function or extensive experience in procurement or accounts payable function in high volume environment
  • Demonstrated experience in using an eprocurement based Accounts Payable system.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility
  • Experience in implementing compliance controls across finance transactional functions
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including peers, employees, external organisations, funding bodies and government agencies
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability considering strategic implications, decisions and actions
  • High level communication skills with an attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate Excel skills and experience using a computerised accounting system
