We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our Supply Chain team based at our offices in Newcastle City Centre.

Working in fast paced engineering project based environment, the Supply Chain team provides coordinated delivery from our approved suppliers for the construction of our products for the Offshore, Marine, Oil & Gas, Renewables and Defence Sectors.


The Supply Chain Manager will undertake strategic review of processes and develop our approved vendors to enhance schedule and quality performance, as well as managing a team of Buyers and their associated workload.


  • You will be responsible for:_
  • Managing and developing the Supply Chain team.
  • Producing reports/metrics on throughput and backlog of requisitions and orders.
  • Monitoring and reporting on PO delivery status.
  • Ensure consistent and competitive tendering is undertaken to achieve best price/schedule/quality.
  • Establishing and developing a Approved Vendor List appropriate to help deliver the Business Plan.
  • Introducing framework agreements with all key suppliers.
  • Regularly visit and work with suppliers to improve quality and schedule adherence.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationship with all key suppliers.
  • Provide support to the sales/bid teams when preparing client proposals.
  • Review and update the company procurement processes on a routine basis.
  • Job requirements:_
  • Educational background preferably degree level in a technical/management/business discipline. Preference for purchasing professional registration (CIPS).
  • Relevant experience in a commercial / supply chain / procurement management role.
  • Industry knowledge preferable offshore/marine, defence, heavy engineering sectors.
  • Supplier knowledge preference for extensive knowledge of North East suppliers, fabrication and machining.
  • Driven/motivated, strong leader, excellent communicator, self starter, problem solver, analytical, completer/finisher.
  • ERP systems (e.g. SAP, IFS), commercial awareness, data analysis/tools (Excel)
