The Opportunity
We are searching for a Senior Process Safety Engineer to oversee process safety and risk management for our client's activities.
You will lead the development of Bowties, conduct risk assessments and analysis, monitor operational exceedances, provide recommendations for enhancements, and mentor the Process Safety team.
This role is based on-site and entails an international FIFO roster for an initial 3-6 months contract which includes flights, accommodation, and meals.
- Conducting risk assessments and consequence analysis.
- Providing expert safety guidance to project teams, with a focus on safety in design.
- Leading global Hazard Risk Analysis workshops, encompassing Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
- Collaborating with different disciplines to address process safety issues.
- Reviewing and approving Management of Change Notifications.
- Assisting in making risk-based decisions for site operations.
- Contributing to Functional Safety Studies/Projects with a global outlook.
- Demonstrating unwavering commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.
- Setting an example by offering clear and credible direction to instill a safe and achievement-oriented work approach.What you need:
- Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a mining, processing plant, or refinery setting.
- Sound understanding of safety & risk engineering principles.
- Familiarity with international safety regulations and relevant industry standards.
- Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
- Valid Australian work rights.
