About the Role:


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced training manager to join our VET Team on an ongoing, full-time capacity.

Reporting to the Manager, Vocational and Education and Training, you will be responsible for managing and expanding the Institute's workplace training portfolio in Victoria.

This newly created senior position will manage the human, financial and learning resources within the Industry Training Department to ensure that the Institute's mission, goals and objectives are met or exceeded in a cost effective manner.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a team of trainers who deliver qualifications across hospitality, tourism, cookery, patisserie, baking and food processing programs in the workplace in Victoria.
  • Plan, implement and monitor financial budgets to ensure that revenue and expenditure is within forecast/approved budgets.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities that maximise student enrolment and commercial business outcomes for the Department.
  • Ensure the department meets the Institute's internal and external reporting requirements related to training outcomes, graduate employment, vocational and further education articulation arrangements and other audit criteria.

Key Selection Criteria:

Please write a paragraph for each KSC, explaining how you meet the selection criteria, based on your previous work/life experience. _Only applicants that address the key selection criteria will be considered for this role._**- A tertiary qualification in business, hospitality or tourism plus extensive and relevant industry experience. A teaching qualification is also required.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of teachers and other staff in the development and implementation of innovative vocational education and training programs that meet the needs of a diverse range of students and clients, in a challenging and changing environment.
  • Successful experience in resource planning, budgeting, marketing and use of management information systems.
  • Highly developed negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a demonstrated commitment to consultative leadership and participative decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and develop innovative training programs and materials to meet diverse client requirements specific to workplace training, apprenticeships and traineeships.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and administering contracts and tender documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement education and training management policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in identifying and implementing new opportunities to increase commercial growth, revenue generation and client satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of and a demonstrated commitment to the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 (SRTO) and the processes & procedures that align to that.
  • Demonstrated behaviours that align with the William Angliss Institute Values.
