About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia's largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum.

We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being.

About The Role

The ICT Support Officer will be the first point of contact for all ICT related issues at both the Dandenong and Footscray offices', providing professional, timely and effective advice and support.

Working cloesly with the broader ICT team this role will be responsible for:

  • Provide level 1 (and level 2 when possible) ICT support to all ASRC members, staff, volunteers and visitors whilst maintaining the central onsite helpdesk by managing all work requests via the service desk system, including monitoring and maintaining computer systems
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of ICT troubleshooting activities to ensure appropriate technical support exists for the continuation of essential services in a timely, efficient and effective manner (which may include escalating to internal or external channels)
  • Contribute to the development and adoption of ICTrelated policies and procedures
  • Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with key stakeholders and partners in a professional and appropriate manner
  • Overse, train and coordinate ICT volunteers to ensure operational activities and projects are being achieved/delivered
About You
In addition to your relevant education and training in an ICT qualification or relevant skills / work experience you will also possess the following:

  • Sound technical knowledge of desktop hardware in a Windows environment; with both locally-installed and cloud software.
  • Strong customer service focus and experience in providing technical advice, support and assistance to staff and management on a range of ICT functions within the ITIL framework
  • Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise a variety of ICT tasks and projectbased activities
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Windows Standard Operating Environments (SOE)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse group of customers on various ICT related matters
Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable.

Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia as well as previous experience working within a not-for-profit environment, would also be advantageous.
