You're great at working with contractors, site managers & PMs. You're a good communicator and people trust you and your knowledge.


You want something that doesn't lock you up in the office, but where you can get out and about, meet people and help bring projects together.


You want a good culture, with bosses who are hands on and really care about their staff and the jobs.

This role is as a BDM (Business Development Manager) for Sheridan Road Rail. They supply road and rail (hi-rail) equipment for railway infrastructure on an on-call basis.

They have a great reputation and market share here in NSW and have been around for 25 years, but have never had a BDM.

So far their work has all been in-bound sales.

They're ready to have someone full time on outbound sales duties.

They have a big database and a great reputation, and your job will be to develop their sales by reaching out to potential companies, creating relationships with the right people and creating more opportunities for Sheridan.


Important:
They don't need someone who has done sales before


What they need is someone who understands what the business does (being machinery/equipment hire & operators), knows what it takes when it comes to scheduling the people, the plans & the jobs, and knows what they're talking about then it comes to cranes, EWPs, trucks, excavators etc.

If you don't understand the fleet, then you cannot solve the problems for the client.


This means you might have a background as a Project Manager, a Site Manager, Heavy Vehicle maintenance, Machinery/equipment hire, Trucking, Rail etc.

It doesn't matter too much, as long as you're comfortable in chatting to people, love solving problems for the client, and HATE sitting around waiting for things to happen.

It's a family owned and run business, with a team that gets along great and enjoys a beer with each other, and the jobs are very interesting and challenging and involves problem solving
- so no 2 clients or jobs will be the same.
