With teams in the AFL, the AFL Women's League and Super Netball competitions, the GIANTS truly are a club like no other.

Off field, the club's exciting, innovative, and fresh brand is growing as it engages with members, fans, the community and key stakeholders across Western Sydney, Canberra and Nationally.


The GIANTS' AFL and AFL Women's teams are based at the club's elite training and administration facility in Sydney Olympic Park, with GIANTS Netball based adjacent at Netball Central.

Description:


The purpose of this position is to provide support to the People & Culture Manager to build and promote a positive employee experience and life cycle.

This position will work to continually improve and identify the need for people processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

People Policies, Programs & Culture

Assist in the provision of People Services at all stages of the employee lifecycle as required (Recruitment, Onboarding, Termination, Compliance, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Reward & Recognition and other initiatives)
Coordinate the GIANTS onboarding and termination processes including liaising with all departments involved in each process
Update and maintain the Organisational Chart
Build and maintain P&C correspondence templates and documentation
Assist with the development, implementation of an annual Employee Engagement Survey
Assist with the embedding of the Club Purpose, Values and Guiding Principles

Recruitment & Induction

Ensure vacancies are advertised on Seek, Linkedin, AFL website and GIANTS website
Support the People department to generate letters of offer through the HRIS portal
Coordinate contracts for Casuals, Interns, Contractors, Volunteers, Vocational Placements and all other placements as required

Development & Training

Assist in the coordination of Learning and Development plans (including Individual Development Plans) in consultation with the People Manager
Ensure individual training records, departmental skills training records and cross-departmental non-skills training are complete and well documented
Coordinate staff training, including team building programmes where required

WHS, Risk Management & AFL Compliance

Ensure that staff certification records are maintained and that compliance is kept up-to-date (ie. First Aid, RSA, RSG, Food Handling, Fire Warden)
Ensure that all new staff an officials undertake a Police Check
Ensure that all Employees and relevant Support Staff have, or obtain, a Working With Children Check
Maintain ongoing records and ensure that WWCCs are up-to-date for all Staff and Support Staff
Assist in the completion of the Workplace Gender Equality Act (WGEA) Annual Report for the Department of WGEA
Ensure compliance with all AFL policies and procedures including Respect & Responsibility, Illicit Drugs, Gambling and Alcohol Policy
Ensure all staff are aware of the AFL Industry Wellness Program, Converge

Payroll Coordination

Liaise with the relevant Finance staff to advise of new employees, salary reviews and staff terminations as required
Assist managers to ensure leave is processed in a timely manner across all departments

Skills and Experiences:

Skills and Knowledge

Minimum 1 year experience in HR/administration
Human resources tertiary qualification ideal but not required
Current knowledge of employment legislation beneficial
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Time Management
Demonstrated administration skills combined with an ability to manage multiple projects
Advanced knowledge is required of the Microsoft suite of products, primarily Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Attention to detail and naturally very organised whilst able to work in a dynamic environment
Ability to work within the culture of an elite sporting organisation

Personal Attributes:

Comfortable to be a team player and work autonomously, going above and beyond to achieve the desired results
Be a strategic thinker, using research and creativity in the development of partner solutions
Professional, helpful, and efficient manner
Understanding of AFL is ideal, but not essential
