    Job description:
  • The position assists in the assessment of the risk-based licensing schemes (Working with Children and Security Agents) in accordance with legislation and through policies and procedures of the Occupational Licensing Unit.

Period of Appointment:

Fixed term until 07 January 2026

Hours per fortnight:

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties:

  • Ensure the proper registration of applicants in Tasmania by providing advice on the risks associated with identified applicants.
  • To provide advice and support to the Manager, Assistant Director and Director, Working with Vulnerable Persons Registration.
  • Coordinate decisionmaking on nonstandard matters and assist in the preparation of the reasons for decisions.
  • Provide advice on the necessity for amendments to legislation, determinations and policies.
  • Participate as appropriate in public consultation processes, including providing information on how the process works.
  • To provide support and advice to the Director and to undertake other duties as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • A Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
