The Position

St John of God Accord is a division of St John of God Health Care dedicated to providing support to people with intellectual disabilities. The overall aim is to enhance the quality of life for clients through development and provision of support options that are aligned to the personal ambition and need of each client.


St John of God Accord's work in the disability sector is important and life changing for our clients and our staff.

Our unique approach puts the client at the centre of collaborative and supportive multi-disciplinary team-servicing clients across the lifespan in a variety of real life settings.


As a Community Support Worker you will be required to work a variety of shift types including morning, day, afternoon and evening shifts.


  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • The right attitude to support people with a disability.
  • Ability to liaise with families and circles of support, service providers and community groups as required in order to promote community understanding and awareness of people who have a disability.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure as well as use initiative to cope with competing demands.
  • Welldeveloped written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a sound ability to negotiate in situations of conflict.
  • Proven ability to function as a cohesive member of a team.
  • Ability to write and type succinct file notes and maintain good record keeping practice.
  • Capable of working independently with an individual or group of people supported.
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to exercise reasonable judgement.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software packages and databases.


 First Aid Level
  • Current Victorian Roads or equivalent drivers license.
