About NEPHU


The NEPHU is one of nine public health units in Victoria: three in metropolitan Melbourne and six covering regional Victoria.

Together these units form a coordinated network, working in partnership with the Department of Health to deliver a comprehensive public health program for Victoria.


About the role


The Communications Officer will support the ongoing development and growth of NEPHU social media channels, newsletters, and websites by undertaking day-to-day and project-based communications activities - such as written and visual content production, social media production and publishing, and project management to ensure best practice visual and content authoring.


A regular day will see you:

  • Participate in the development and delivery of digital strategy, editorial and planning activity in alignment with broader NEPHU and public health objectives.
  • Work with the Communications Team to develop and deliver rich, engaging and shareable digital content and solutions for NEPHU's social media channels and websites, including video, infographics and visual content.

About you
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or similar related to digital design and development, visual communications or associated disciplines, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated digital and social media content creation skills across a variety of mediums and platforms, with the ability to understand technical information and reproduce it into a form that is engaging and easytounderstand.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and relationship skills with proven ability to engage with diverse groups of people.
  • A flexible and agile 'cando' attitude.
