  • Grade 2 Dietitian
  • Part time, 32 hrs per week. The roster could be across 4 or 5 days, with the ideal day off for 4day roster being a Wednesday

  • Work allocation: cancer services (inpatient and outpatient) with focus on radiation oncology and day oncology.

About the Nutrition and Dietetics Department
Our department is a vibrant and fast-paced environment with a team of 42 staff (34 EFT) across three sites. We function as one department and work in a supportive and friendly environment. We provide service to inpatients, outpatients and home/community programs, spanning acute care, sub-acute care and rehabilitation.


Our Dietitians are experts in medical nutrition therapy across a range of clinical specialties and are organised into clinical streams: specialist medicine, ICU/surgical/gastro, oncology, paediatrics and mental health, sub-acute & rehab.

Other key activities include staff education and development, student training, quality improvement, research and food service.

The position is based on the acute site?(Austin campus) and is part of our?Cancer stream which includes services to radiotherapy,?medical oncology, haematology, day oncology and palliative care.

The clinical workload allocation for this position is primarily radiotherapy and day oncology, with inpatient oncology allocated according to demand.

Workload allocation may vary according to operational needs.

About you

You will have:

  • Interest and experience in cancer care
  • Sound clinical nutrition knowledge in radiation oncology and medical oncology across inpatient and ambulatory settings
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective counselling skills and commitment to patientcentred care
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, efficient workload management and ability to prioritise
