About the Role

Saraji is one of nine metallurgical coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin.

The Saraji mine is an open pit coal mine located near Dysart in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people.

It is one of Australia's largest mines, by recoverable coal reserves. Saraji mines the Moranbah Coal Measures, blending from up to 11 coal seams.

Reporting to the Drill & Blast Lead, as the Drill & Blast Specialist you will be engaged in advanced drill & blast design processes to enable safe, quality production.

Team Saraji Drill & Blast pride themselves on performance, results and innovation.

Using your already solid mine planning skills and experience you will work closely with the wider mine planning team and operations to strive for safe and efficient mine plans that are aligned to business requirements.

In this role you will:
Put safety above all else and strive to remove hazardsDeliver D&B plans that meet business needs in a timely fashionCommunicate model outcomes and your vision/strategy to Production Coordinators and Operations Execution teamsParticipate in the investigation of reported events for Production PlanningIdentify and implement Production Planning improvement initiativesBuild cross-functional relationship with the Operational sub-functions and interact extensively with the Planning sub-functionsAbout You


As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education, background in mining engineering with previous experience working at an operations level.

Your


demonstrated experience working in mine planning teams particularly planning and scheduling for truck and shovel will see you succeed in this role.

As well as your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will have demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and able to communicate at all levels.

A strong working knowledge of design tools (SPRY/Deswik/Vulcan), Microsoft Office software packages are desirable.


You will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.
