Your OpportunityAs the Restaurant Reservations Officer you will provide a comprehensive range of administrative services to support the operation of restaurant reservations and functions services within the organisation.
This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to16 August 2023, unless otherwise determined (maternity leave backfill). The position reports to the Restaurant Manager and will be based primarily at Southbank campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campusesKey Responsibilities
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
- Live a safety culture, lead by example and support the Health Safety and Environment Management System to create a TAFE Queensland Brisbanewide safety culture.
- Be the first point of contact for the organisation's training restaurant, bistro and functions, ensuring client inquiries and bookings are coordinated in a professional and efficient manner with a focus on complete customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the promotion and marketing of the organisation's restaurant and function facilities.
- Supervise the activities and provide training to restaurant staff involved in restaurant reservations and functions cashiering activities.
- Liaise with organisational management, students, teachers, support staff and clients, at all levels within the private and public sectors, including responding to enquiries regarding restaurant reservations and functions.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of food and beverage operations and functions for internal and external clients; including consulting with clients regarding functions and reservations.
- Provide guidance to hospitality students in the use of the Point of Sales System and how other equipment is used within the front of house.
- Ensure function rooms are setup to a high standard in accordance with the protocol of operations, to client specifications and needs.
- Develop, implement and review systems, policies, procedures and processes and maintain records management systems in relation to function and restaurant reservation activities.
- Maintain accurate records in relation to restaurant activities and prepare reports for management providing statistics on the food and beverage operations.
- Prioritise work activities and assist the manager in resolving issues arising from daily operations.
- Cordinate payments from clients for the restaurant, bistro and functions.
- Contribute to the achievement of TAFE Queensland Brisbane's quality policies by encouraging an environment where high quality of work is achieved and is supported by the adherence/development of quality system documentation.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the hospitality industry and the logistics of operating multiple food and beverage facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to consult with a diverse range of clients, prepare written correspondence and statistical reports and work as an effective team member.
- Demonstrated ability in utilising computerised records management and information systems with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external stakeholder relationships, and working collaboratively to foster a positive and cohesive work environment.
- An understanding of human resource management issues including occupational health and safety, quality assurance, equal employment opportunity and antidiscrimination, as applied in a working environment.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
- Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV)
