Position Information:


Engadine High School is a large and vibrant comprehensive high school with a culture of achievement and educational excellence, fostered by a supportive learning environment.

Our enrolment numbers are 1060 students, including 35 (3%) of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.


We have a commitment to whole school programs that aim to enrich student learning beyond the classroom, including cross-curricular project-based learning, social justice action, an award-winning Linkages program and high expectations of all.

The school embraces quality teaching and assessment for learning principles, with best practice policies on assessment and learning, differentiation and has embraced technology to complement and enhance learning.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

Demonstrated capacity to initiate and lead whole school wellbeing programs.

Demonstrated capacity to lead a Stepped Care Model that refers students to appropriate support, including post school pathways.

Capacity to lead the Wellbeing Team's practices in fostering a school culture of proactive, evidence based wellbeing interventions.

Demonstrated capacity to effectively consult and communicate with a range of stakeholders to support student learning and wellbeing.

General Selection Criteria:

  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
