**About the opportunityReporting into the Chief Marketing Officer, with a dotted line to the Director of Metro, the role of the GM Brand and Marketing - Metro is to lead the agile team that activates our purpose as the curated ultra convenience proposition for Woolworths "Fresh Food People" Brand and how it is expressed and built.
This is delivered through tangible team and customer experiences across our Metro stores, Metro partnerships with Ampol (MetroGo) and our ultra fast convenience offer MILKRUN.
You will work cross functionally to design and execute customer growth strategies to drive customer and team advocacy through an easy, fresh, local and value for time and money customer experience.
This is delivered through a consistent, customer led approach in all channels to ensure the Metro Customer Value Proposition is consistently expressed through all customer touchpoints, with Metro as a proof point of Woolworths "Today's Fresh Food People" Brand approach.
**What you are accountable/responsible for: - Leading and delivering the Metro brand and marketing strategy across all channels to achieve sustainable financial results and increase in customer and brand advocacy
- Leading and developing the Metro brand strategy and framework, articulating the unique benefit of Metro for customers as the Woolworths brand for curated ultra convenience across food stores
- Developing and embedding clear guidelines for the brand expression to ensure the brand strategy is brought to life and customer experience is optimised across channels
- Partnering with the MILKRUN teams to establish clear guidelines for Brand expression and approach through Metro customer touchpoints
- Lead the development of the annual customer and trade plan for Metro in collaboration with the wider Woolworths marketing community and Metro commercial team
- Lead the development and execution of brand and marketing communications plan for food stores across all key customer touchpoints and relevant channels ATL (digital, OOH) and BTL (in store, loyalty) including Rewards and our retail media (cartology) partnership opportunities
- Collaborating with the instore, format marketing practice to define and execute a tailored approach to store communication and promotional activation
- A strong understanding of customer trends, identifying opportunities and ensuring the business is responding appropriately to meet changing customer needs
- Experience of engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders, up to board level
- Strong focus on results & financial acumen
- Retail, FMCG, Customer focused background would be strongly advantageous
- Senior Leadership experience
- Experience in creating highly engaged and motivated teams
- A working knowledge of agile working principles is highly desirable
