The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) are actively seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join the Flight Operations team in Brisbane in a Permanent full-time capacity.
The Technical Writer is responsible providing support to the Flight Operations department in the development and maintenance of technical processes and systems in day of operations and strategic projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for those with aviation experience and an understanding of flight operations and logistics, this position will suit a pilot looking for a change.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the RFDS Flight Operations manual suite in accordance with quality management and document control processes and procedures
- Updating and incorporating the latest amendments, in light of operational experience and continuous improvement initiatives into the RFDS manual suite
- Ensure relevant operational material and processes are accurate across the Flight Operational Manuals Suite and operational crews are appropriately notified of changes
- Work directly with subject matter expert (SME's), cell leads, customers and management as needed to gather data and create technical manual updates or documents
- Assist the Flight Operations Team in documenting new procedures, forms, check lists and flow charts in support of operations

You will be able to work in small teams, be agile in your approach, dedicated to the job and focused on the task at hand.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in document management
- Excellent skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Technical writing and document management experience in Aviation
- Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of flight operations and logistics
- Experience in flight technical operations and electronic document application and control
