As the University commits to creating vibrant and viable campuses for students, staff, communities and industry partners through the Campus Vision strategic plan, we are seeking an experienced Program Manager.

The Program Manager will lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams for the establishment of an expanded Federation University presence in Melbourne's South-East and is accountable for effective leadership, management, delivery and reporting of all associated projects and activities.


The expansion of service offering in this region will require a wide program of work including provision of facilities, creation of operating models, modification of educational programs and methods of delivery, marketing and market development.


The position supports the Executive Director Transformation Assets and Commercial in the delivery of the South-East Melbourne Projects ensuring that the management and delivery of all associated projects are suitably aligned with the business case/plan, and that expected quality standards are met.

Travel between campuses and to other locations will be required.

What you will deliver

  • Lead and manage a complex program of works across all portfolios, ensuring that projects and programs are delivered within set time, quality and cost targets in alignment with the business case and plans for expansion.
  • Establish an overarching Program Control Group (PCG) and sub working groups and work collaboratively with the PCG and senior University executives to implement and deliver project plans.
  • Lead and manage governance oversight and reporting processes for the project. Provide regular reports on the performance of all projects, programs, and activity to demonstrate compliance and performance against required outcomes to the PCG and senior leadership as required.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered in accordance with the project brief, meet the functional, quality and performance standards and specifically in alignment with the business case/plan.
  • Lead and manage the overall program delivery through the establishment and management of the project streams, including:


Investment
  • (Victorian and Australian Governments, Partnerships etc);
  • Premises (including identification, leasing, fit out (including IT), and commencement of operations in early 2025);
  • Industry partnership development;
  • Market development (in schools and other partners); and
  • Business Operating Plans.

What you need to succeed

  • Demonstrated indepth knowledge of industry standard project management and an understanding of broad range of issues that are critical for success of the projects.
  • Proven expertise and extensive experience and qualifications in the management of large and complex projects.
  • Substantial expertise and experience in leading and managing the delivery of multifaceted initiatives and projects, within timeframes, quality, procedural and financial parameters, preferably in the tertiary education sector.
  • Familiarity with processes and methodology associated with Portfolio Management Office systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent complex tasks, shifting priorities and timelines through strong analytical and problemsolving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead the development and implementation of best practice processes, procedures and systems, management protocols including KPIs and auditing to both monitor quality of performance and provide management reporting metrics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the operation of the tertiary education sector within Australia would be preferred.
