The Position

St John of God Berwick Hospital, has a total of 202 beds, eight operating theatres, a cardiac/vascular laboratory and six birthing suites. The hospital provides a wide range of services caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including cardiology, maternity, medical and surgical; offering state of the art equipment and facilities to our rapidly growing community. The hospital has a 16 bed Critical Care Unit with 6 Intensive Care beds and 10 Cardiac/HDU beds. Our aim is to deliver the very best in health care at our Berwick Hospital.


We are currently seeking an experienced Volunteer Services Coordinator to ensure excellence in the coordination and stewardship of all aspects of the Volunteering function for SJOG Berwick hospital.


Experience as a Manager/Leader within a Volunteer Service or Health care and knowledge of the Volunteer Services in health care will be highly regarded.

This position will be offered on a permanent part time basis, working 38 hours per fortnight.

  • Experience in a Volunteer Service or knowledge of issues related to the provision of Volunteer Services, experience in health, general management and administration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or competing priorities.
  • Effective leadership and change management skills.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to work across Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Public relations skills and experience.
