JOB DESCRIPTION

We are in search of a talented Senior VFX Artist with a strong creative flair to contribute to our latest release, XDefiant.

As a Senior VFX Artist, you will be responsible for creating explosions, world effects, and visual elements that bridge art and design, effectively conveying gameplay concepts to players and enhancing the visual experience.

You will collaborate with a team of game developers to craft thrilling combat sequences, memorable scenes, and immersive gameplay. Working alongside studio leaders and directors in a multi-disciplinary environment, you will define VFX for gameplay features, ensuring high-quality effects that enhance the overall experience. Additionally, you will play a key role in refining production processes and pipelines to maintain consistency and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing high-quality, realistic VFX to enhance art direction and gameplay in XDefiant.
  • Transforming references, concept art, and game design briefs into polished features.
  • Creating a diverse range of real-time special effects using industry-standard techniques.
  • Optimizing VFX for performance requirements.
  • Identifying and implementing best practices for VFX workflows.
  • Collaborating with Art and Programming teams to address technical challenges and meet visual standards.
  • Researching new industry technologies to enhance visual quality and efficiency.
  • Mentoring and supporting fellow artists to foster team success.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated VFX experience in gaming or film industries.
  • Proficiency in creating high-quality VFX with tools like Maya, Houdini, etc.
  • A creative thinker comfortable with exploring new approaches to FX.
  • Experience with particle systems and dynamic simulations.
  • Ability to balance quality with technical constraints.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Team player mindset focused on collaboration and mentorship.
