Your Role

  • Manage a diverse project portfolio.
  • Be responsible for managing project objectives, budgets and communication with key stakeholders.

The current roles are suited to candidates with 2-10+ years of post-graduate Urban Planning experience in private practice who possess the following competencies:
  • Strong conceptual thinking.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including producing well-written and incisive reports.
  • The ability to demonstrate effectiveness and a strong commitment to working in a team, setting and delivering high-quality client service and technical competence.

Technical responsibilities:

  • Provide professional planning advice and services to landowners including site analysis, feasibility studies, and project assessments.
  • Liaise with government bodies and other stakeholders to ensure that the development proposals are aligned with the planning scheme.
  • Prepare and submit planning proposals and development applications and manage the application process through to approval.
  • Prepare and present planning reports and recommendations to landowners, key stakeholders, and attend meetings and public hearings as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of development proposals on the local community and recommend mitigation measures as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to other members of the development team, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to ensure that planning considerations are integrated into project design and implementation.
  • Keep up to date with changes in planning laws and regulations and contribute to the development of planning policies and guidelines for the company.

Minimum requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or related discipline
  • Demonstrated understanding of VIC planning policies and legislation, or a willingness to learn if your experience is from interstate or overseas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
