About the position


Council's People and Culture Department is looking for a Child Safe Advisor who will be responsible for overseeing Council's approach to creating a child safe organisation including compliance with the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme.


The main responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating delivery and ongoing development of Council's Child Safe Action Plan;
  • Supporting Council's Reportable Conduct Team in their response to and reporting of Reportable Conduct incidents; and
  • Building strong working relationships across all Council departments to build a culture that is focused on the safeguarding of children and young people.
This is a part time role working 22.8 hours per week. Working days are flexible.

About you

  • Experience in the management of Child Safety programs;
  • Sound understanding of legislation, regulations, frameworks, policies and practices associated with Child Safety organisational responsibilities;
  • Demonstrated experience in organisational change management; and
  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, welfare, education, social science or other related field.
