The Role:

At Melbourne Water, our customers, partners and the greater Melbourne community are at the centre of everything we do.

These include Water Retailers, State and Local Government, Developer customers and those who engage with us for services provided directly.


This new ongoing role has been created to support Melbourne Water's capacity to identify, locate, visualise, and report data and insights to help us better understand the experience of our customers and partners, and improve our services to them.

As a key part of the Customer Data and Insights Team, this new position is a key enabler of enhancing our granular understanding how we are performing against customer targets.

- translate complex data into clear, meaningful, and actionable insights to assist business decision-making.

  • Take data and information and make it tell a clear story for a variety of audiences, utilising your data visualisation skills
  • Support critical reporting activities throughout the year including statutory reporting requirements.

Your Skills and Experience:

You have strong demonstrated experience with customer data and reporting.

We want you to showcase your savvy Power BI Dashboard skills (or other formats) that shows creative and visually engaging data.


You have a proven ability to interpret and present findings from data in an engaging manner using storytelling and visualisation to convey meaning and insight.


You have a reputation for establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to interface with all levels of the business to establish trust and gather required data and information.

You will be a highly dynamic worker, flexible and an agile thinker, and an engaging communicator.

Your highly-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills will be utilised as you navigate complex data, present insights and manage the expectations, demands and priorities of the role.


A qualification in Analytics or Business Analysis is required and you will have advanced Power BI and SQL expertise, as well as experience in using Survey Data.

Experience in Microsoft Dynamics and using Qualtrics will be beneficial and looked upon favourably.

Position Description:
