This role is within Technology's Chief Controls Office (Line 1 technology risk team) focusing on change initiatives for the Retail Bank.

Our team provides risk assessments over retail banking projects to understand how it will impact our existing technology environment and ensuring there are adequate risk mitigations in place prior to go-live.

These change initiatives vary from compliance, risk mitigation to new and innovative products or technologies that underpin our mobile banking App, NetBank, ATM's, Branches, Contact Centres, Open Banking and Core Banking capabilities.

The Technology Chief Controls Office works with the business, including IT Service Owners, Business Owners, Project and Portfolio Managers, Enterprise Procurement and Cyber Security to identify and assess technology and operational risks.

Additionally it supports the maintenance of an effective risk management framework by leading risk engagement.

We bring together specialist risk advice to support the business in the delivery of their outcomes within an effective risk culture.


On any given day you will:

  • Engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including delivery teams, cyber security specialists, business owners and operational risk professionals
  • Perform technology risk assessments of new retail banking projects
  • Identify key risks, controls, issues and advise on the remedial action
  • Provide specialist advice on technology compliance for project delivery, Risk in Change and other internal policies
  • Inform and influence senior stakeholders to achieve better risk outcomes.

We are interested in hearing from people with:

  • Technology risk or operational risk experience of 3 or more years. (required)
  • Other experience such as regulatory and compliance, audit & assurance, cloud or project management
  • Stakeholder management, analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Professional qualifications such as (CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, CA or CPA).
