Job Opportunity
As the Translation and Interpreting Officer, you will be an integral part of this company's Head Office Business Operations.
This position is an initial 2-month temporary opportunity with the view of extension or permanent offer. You will be based in their Sydney Head Office which is in the heart of CBD.

As a Translation and Interpreting Officer your main responsibility will be to provide essential translation support to the businesses' Executives and Stakeholders.

Your main responsibility will be to translate any administrative materials between Chinese and English / English and Chinese to assist in filling wider processes and business requirements.


Documents you may translate could include:


Corporate based or high-profile texts that are related to mining operations, health and safety, government and community relations, infrastructure, public statements, internal report.

This translation will be confidential and requires extreme professionalism throughout.


In addition, you will provide ad hoc support to the wider Sydney office such as Reception Duties, Event management and administrative support.


Key Experience and Qualification


To be considered for this position you must have translation experience preferably as an in-house corporate translator (freelance/volunteer will be accepted too) and fluency in both English and Chinese (written and verbal).


Other important experience and qualifications include the following:


  • Mining, constructure or other blue-collar experience is a must:

Translations and Interpreting experience within an industry with high technical terms, such as mining, blue collar, or government work would be highly advantageous

  • Excellent command of written and oral English and Chinese.
  • High competency to translate and interpret between Chinese and English.
  • Ability to produce products in various language styles.
  • Active listening and speaking skills.
  • Business/ office administration support.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
And, most importantly a strong Team Player
