You will provide high-level leadership across Government by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and work towards a system of world-class service delivery and public sector management.

About the Commercial division of the Industry, Investment and Commercial (IIC) group

The Assistant Under Treasurer (AUT) Commercial Project Advisory (CPA) leads significant and complex commercial and property projects, and other strategic investments to deliver government priorities.


The Assistant Under Treasurer (AUT), Commercial Project Advisory (CPA) sits within the Commercial division of the Industry, Investment and Commercial (IIC) group in Treasury.


The IIC group works proactively with the private sector, industry and economic development agencies to drive whole-of-government policy initiatives and accelerate the delivery of projects.

The IIC group also provides strategic advice to the Treasurer and Under Treasurer in relation to significant commercial and strategic investments, and attracts and facilitates private sector investment, including infrastructure and property transactions, along with major procurement.

Commercial division sets the commercial agenda across the Queensland Government.

It partners with Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC) and Queensland Investment Corporation Limited (QIC) to deliver consolidated whole-ofagency advice and leadership to line agencies and engages with the private sector to explore opportunities for the market to work with Government on the delivery of core priorities.


This includes working to enhance the delivery capability of the Queensland Government across a range of major commercial and infrastructure projects, ensuring public needs are met and value for money is achieved.

Commercial also participates in the delivery governance of privately financed projects by Queensland Government agencies, including the procurement of privately financed projects.

The AUT CPA role requires an in-depth knowledge of the whole-of-government agenda and priorities relevant to commercial/property project delivery, investment/financing strategies and structural reform.


As a leader in Queensland Government, you will display outstanding judgement, high-level integrity, strong agility to adapt to a constantly changing environment, a strong achievement orientation, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.


As a senior executive leader, your performance will be assessed against four key accountability perspectives: organisational financial management, whole of government leadership and collaboration, organisational priorities and leadership and culture.


There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications in accounting, commerce, economics, finance, or a related discipline is highly regarded.
