Our Client is seeking a branch Librarian who will undertake customer service activities while role modelling and coaching team members to deliver outstanding customer service.

They will plan and deliver programs, events and activities that facilitate literacy, community learning and inclusion.

Client Details


Our client, a local council south of the river, are seeking a Branch Librarian who will support the provision of customer focused, innovative and effective library services.


Description


Manage the day-to-day activities of library employees including employee rostering, to ensure that appropriate service levels are maintained to effectively meet operational needs and achieve performance targets, in conjunction with the Senior Branch Librarian.


Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the library including public and employee areas referring any problems to the relevant officer as required.


Assist customers, internal and external, requiring support with computers, mobile devices and other technology as required and contribute to digital literacy outcomes.


Provide support and assistance to Library Officers including identifying training and development needs, to enable them to undertake their duties to the required standard and achieve outcomes.


Monitor and review individual and team performance to ensure successful achievement of relevant individual performance objectives to meet the overall operational and strategic direction of the service.

Provide a reference and information service and actively contribute to innovation in the library customer service model.

Supervision and management of volunteers, incorporating recruitment, work-based activities, performance and training, in conjunction with other Library Services employees.

Profile

  • Tertiary qualifications allowing eligibility for Associate Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association are essencial
  • Support and demonstrate a commitment to the City as an equal employment opportunity employer.
