My client is a global sports agency with more than 600 staff across Europe, the US and Melbourne. Their focus is driving growth for sports properties by delivering deeper connections with fans through the intelligent use of data and technology. They work with some of the biggest sports organisations in Australia and around the world including the AFL, Cricket Australia, NFL, Premier League Football, Formula 1 and Wimbledon.

Central to their strategy is leveraging data to enhance clients' understanding of their customers and provide insights that guide strategic decision-making. They develop digital products designed to increase audiences and revenue across ticketing, participation, sponsorship, and media.

As the product team continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join the Melbourne team. This role requires a skilled communicator and collaborator with a background in Agile teams, tasked with delivering exceptional digital products for sports clients.

Responsibilities:

  • as part of a cross-functional, agile team including designers, product managers, technologists, and quality assurance engineers.
  • in the Discovery phase: helping clients shape large digital products and technology projects, understanding the scope, technology, and delivery approach as well as the business case and rationale for investment.
  • in the Delivery phase: building and deploying products for clients, running workshops, creating documentation, and user stories for development.
  • closely with engineers and testers to ensure the work delivered aligns with expectations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a business analyst role
  • You are client facing and possess Agency / Consulting company experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and directly with clients.
  • Experience in utilising and implementing core digital technologies including CMS, CRM, VMS, Mobile Applications and Data Warehouses.
  • Passion for digital products and technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a flair for finding innovative solutions.
  • Skilled in using documentation and diagramming tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Lucidchart/Visio.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG and experience in capturing accessibility requirements in user stories
  • Experience in viewing, querying, and analysing data using tools such as Azure Data Studio, Power BI, and Postman.
  • Ability to quickly break down product elements and functionality into outcome-based user stories.
  • A keen interest in sport or the sports business and a real interest in the positive effects on clients' businesses.

This role is hybrid remote with two days per week in the office (located in Melbourne CBD) or onsite at client offices as required.
