Position Overview
The Team Leader Corporate Governance and Information Services (TLCGIS) plays a key role in the achievement
of corporate goals as they relate to Corporate Governance and Information Management services and
practice. The TLCGIS ensures that sound governance and information management is implemented, delivered,
embedded and maintained across the organisation in order to promote a culture of good governance and
safeguard effective information management in line with the organisation's systems, risk and compliance
responsibilities and its corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Governance and Information Management:

  • Ensure the efficient day to day management and operation of the Corporate Governance and Information
Management team utilising effective leadership and people management skills in order to ensure engaged
and motivated staff and the delivery of key business unit outcomes.

  • Drive the development, implementation and review of modern and compliant Governance and Information
management policies and practices in order to deliver ongoing improvements in service delivery, meet
legislative obligations and align with Council and business unit strategic objectives.

  • Lead the maintenance of Council's policy and process management through partnering with leaders to
monitor currency and adoption of policies and processes to ensure organisational compliance with relevant
legislation and regulations.

  • Provide timely and professional advice to staff and Elected Members that supports the interpretation,
implementation and compliance with, Local Government legislation, statutory obligations and Council
policies.

  • Collaborate cross departmentally on continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and
drive best practice including the provision of training and development for staff to ensure consistency with
policy and legislation.

Corporate Governance:

  • Implement, manage and maintain frameworks, policies and systems that support and underpin the
achievement of the Governance strategy and that reinforce a culture of good governance across the
organisation.

  • Drive the delivery of Corporate Governance service deliverables through high levels of customer service to
internal and external stakeholders of Council.

  • Oversee the end to end management and allocation of delegations, subdelegations and authorisations and
the subsequent accurate maintenance of t
