Gladstone Central, Queensland, Australia Cement Australia Full time

Carry out the Maintenance Planning function for Reliability, Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Teams in their assigned Planner Group. Agree to achievable maintenance plans for manufacture of Clinker, lime, the milling of Cement, Material dispatch facilities and fuel processing areas, to deliver within budgeted costs and meet reliability targets.

About the role:

  • Participate in site safety performance to meet TRFR targets. Provide SHE support through planning and scheduling of work to ensure SHE KPI's are achieved. Ensure relevant SHE documentation are implemented into work orders and data collected and updated upon maintenance completion and review. Ensure all contractors engaged for services comply with site safety requirements.
  • Provide planning and scheduling for Reliability, Electrical and Mechanical maintenance teams to ensure equipment is inspected and maintained to an appropriate level so that budgeted plant performance KPI's are achieved for all main assets including Mills and rotary Kilns.
  • Ensure the SAP maintenance management system is maintained for all planned maintenance activities to reflect the schedule and resource requirements within the overall integrated maintenance plan. Ensure relevant work orders are generated, processed and closed out
  • Participate with the Reliability Team to ensure lessons learnt from equipment failures are captured and maintenance management system processes are updated to prevent reoccurrence and improve future planning and scheduling
  • Ensure that maintenance activities meet Planning KPI's. Review backlog to ensure that the backlog is managed. Ensure equipment modifications and new equipment installed comply with updated BOM's
  • Essential role in shutdowns planning, monitor and control planning activities through all phases of the shutdown lifecycle; preparation; pre-work; work; post work and feedback
  • Analyse the detailed shutdown plans, identify potential conflicts and deviations and propose solutions to optimise the overall shutdown schedule
  • Produce and issue progress S curves for the shutdown progress to allow visual representation of plan and progress
  • Be familiar with annual maintenance budget in magnitude and timing of spend to ensure monthly maintenance spend remains under budget. Identify future maintenance requirements and prepare cost report and contribute to the following year's annual budget development
  • Continuously review maintenance spend within your area to ensure monthly spends are tracking to forecast. Participate in monthly maintenance cost forecast sessions to ensure budget and end of year $/tonne budgets are achieved
  • Promote the culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and generating ideas to improve plant, process and people performance
  • Works with key stakeholders , Reliability Engineers, Team leaders and Area Coordinators to develop detailed work scope, work delivery plans and costs forecast to ensure safe , timely and costs effective completion of major shutdown works
  • Continuously review accountable areas BOM's and ensure inventory holdings are optimised

About you:

  • Minimum trade qualified Mechanical or Electrical or Engineering degree.
  • Full understanding of the fundamentals of maintenance systems and processes
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite and MS projects skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize scheduled jobs.
  • Understanding of budget setting, tracking and Forecasting
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible and ambitious to grew-up within the organization with the ability to influence
  • Proven maintenance planning experience preferably within the heavy manufacturing or mining industry
  • Minimum trade qualified Mechanical or Electrical. Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical is desirable
