About the position


Councils Safer Communities Department is looking for a Community Support Officer who will be responsible for supporting Community Support Frankston, with the delivery of our Emergency Relief and other programs to financially disadvantaged residents.


The main responsibilities will include:

  • Assessments for people living in Frankston for material aid needs, provide information, advice and arrange referrals to assist people experiencing disadvantage and financial crisis;
  • Provide a high standard of customer service to people contacting or visiting the agency; and
  • Be flexible in providing administrative, food program and other necessary Emergency Relief (ER) program supports.
This is a temporary full time position ending on June 30th 2024

About you

  • Relevant experience in providing support to people with complex needs;
  • Qualification and/or experience in welfare, community services/development and/or substantial relevant experience in the field;
  • Able to work with a range of diverse stakeholders, including volunteers; and
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, navigate database lookup systems and be part of a fast paced work environment.
