The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising of MACA, Acciona and AECOM) has been chosen to design and build the M80 Ring Road Completion Project. We are looking to hire a Plant Inspector/Supervisor to join our team in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, specifically in the Watsonia area. This role involves inspecting Plant and Trucks, overseeing procurement, supervision, and minor maintenance to ensure Plant compliance on the project.

This project includes the design and construction of the North East Link between the M80 - Plenty Rd interchange, and the northern tunnel entrance at Watsonia. Tasks encompass the development of new freeway sections, freeway upgrades, building retaining walls and bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design, and landscaping. This diverse and stimulating project is scheduled for completion in 2028.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform timely plant and truck inspections
  • Visit contractor sites and yards for plant induction and conduct plant inductions on M80RR project sites
  • Supervise plant and truck maintenance, ensuring both preventive and breakdown maintenance are promptly carried out
  • Support cost control management for specific scopes of work and plant in general
  • Assist the construction team with plant-related knowledge and compliance

We are seeking candidates with:

  • A Mechanical Trade certificate or relevant experience with construction plant
  • Previous experience in plant maintenance
  • Ability to handle competing demands and a fast-paced environment, with a proactive and flexible approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills, confidence in communicating effectively with various levels of management and internal/external staff
  • Familiarity with plant compliance regulations, Australian Standards, and their application on construction sites
