The IT Manager is a key leadership role responsible for orchestrating and overseeing the overall strategic direction and performance of the small but highly capable IT team. This position involves formulating and implementing IT policies, procedures, and initiatives to align with organisational objectives. The IT Manager plays a crucial role in managing the IT budget, evaluating and implementing new technologies, and ensuring the effective utilization of resources.

Reporting to the CFO and based at our Hobart CBD store, the role will also be accountable for day-to-day critical systems support, desk top support, systems security, and data back-ups. You will be a good communicator, have the ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment and be able to build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic IT plans that align with the organisations goals and objectives. Provide guidance and leadership to the IT team to ensure their efforts are in sync with the overall business strategy.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor and manage the IT team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Allocate tasks effectively, ensuring that each team member is contributing effectively to meet organisational IT goals.
• Budget Oversight: In conjunction with the CFO, manage and allocate the IT budget effectively, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources. Evaluate and recommend technology investments that align with the organisations needs and objectives.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: With our various store and site managers, senior managers and executive team as well as external vendors and service providers
• Risk Management: Identify and address IT security risks, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and systems. Implement and enforce IT policies and procedures to safeguard the organisations information assets.
• Vendor Management: Develop, maintain and oversee relationships with IT vendors. Negotiate contracts and evaluate third-party services to ensure they meet the organisations standards and requirements.
• Technology Evalation and Implementation: Lead the evaluation, selection and implementation of new technologies that enhance operational efficiency and support business objectives.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the IT team. Provide regular reports to executive management on the performance, progress and impact of IT initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will have

• Proven experience in a similar role highly regarded
• Prior experience in IT management and experience with point-of-sale systems desirable
• ITIL 4 Foundation certification highly regarded
• Tertiary qualification in the Information Technology space or significant experience in a similar role
• Great communication skills, work in pressure situations & be able to multi-task
• A great attitude, ability to take direction as a team member, and manage stakeholders
• Be open to learning & implementing new ideas
