About the Role
As the Cybersecurity Incident Response Lead, you're a senior point of coordination during high-priority cybersecurity incident response activities.

You confidently liaise with stakeholders, coordinate with technical colleagues, and coordinate timely action to minimise the impact of cyber-related incidents.

Additionally, you lead internal investigations into breaches of University cybersecurity policy and prepare detailed post-incident reports.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the central technical coordinator during cybersecurity incidents, guiding response efforts to contain and mitigate impacts effectively
  • Serve as the primary liaison with affected parties, ensuring clear communication and collaboration between internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Lead technical investigations into security incidents, coordinating the identification of root causes
  • Coordinate with University technical teams to develop and implement incident response strategies, to ensure mínimal impact on the University's operations

Who we are looking for

You will have exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders, convey technical information to non-technical audiences, and take command in stressful situations.

You will effectively marshal technical resources and act as a central point of coordination end to end during an incident.

You will also need to quickly grasp university policies, conduct investigations into policy breaches, and prepare detailed post-incident reports with recommendations for improvement and performance metrics.


You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent professional experience in cybersecurity
  • Incident Response Leadership: Proven ability to lead and coordinate incident response efforts, including managing technical teams and external partners during highstress situations. This will include occasional work out of hours

Technical Team Coordination:

Expertise in leading technical teams during security investigations, with a focus on understanding and evaluating outputs related to system logs, network traffic, and digital artifacts.

Skilled in orchestrating efforts to ensure comprehensive assessment of security incidents.
