About the Indigenous Cultural Education Program

The University is rolling out a large-scale leadership and education program to all staff to strengthen our culture and commitment to eliminating racism.

As a large-scale culture change program sponsored by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Indigenous, the education program is the cornerstone initiative that will support our leaders and staff to understand the role and responsibility they play in ensuring our Indigenous community of students and staff feel empowered and valued, culturally safe and are treated with dignity and respect.


About the Role
This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and purpose-driven project manager.

You'll oversee the delivery of a highly visible program that stands as a cornerstone of the University's commitment to eliminating racism, and implementing our commitment to creating a culturally safe environment for all.

Responsible for leading the delivery and implementation of this educational initiative across the University, this role will play a crucial part in ensuring a high-quality outcomes and a seamless rollout of the programs.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team of specialists, and work with a range of stakeholders, to design and deliver the program of work and suite of learning solutions
  • Oversee the project plans and evaluation framework to monitor impact and success/outcomes of the program
  • Lead the development and execution of procurement strategies to engage external providers and an effective program delivery
  • Manage commercial relationships with the vendors and ensure prudent management of the contract and scope

Who We Are Looking For
Are you an experienced project manager, passionate about making a positive impact in creating a culturally safe University, free from racism?

We are looking for someone who understands the intricacies of rolling out large-scale programs across a complex organisation.

Utilising your excellent planning and time management skills in conjunction with a high proficiency in project management methodology, you will progress multiple pieces of work simultaneously.

As a confident leader, you will provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the project delivery team and as a strong communicator, you will proactively engage with stakeholders at all levels.

You will understand and be open to learn about how to work with indigenous colleagues in a culturally sensitive manner.


You will also have:

  • Welldeveloped knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies, cultures and issues
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including Indigenous colleagues and delivery partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level proficiency with a project management methodology e.g. Smartsheet, MS Project etc
