About the Role:


A Permanent full time opportunity to join Eva Burrows College (EBC), the national learning centre of The Salvation Army, based out of our Ringwood, Melbourne campus with flexible / hybrid working arrangements available.

Lead the Online and Distance Learning team and support excellence in teaching, online and blended delivery and student/learner support.

Use your online learning technology and systems expertise and educational design knowledge to enable the team to support our Higher Education and Vocational Training student, employee, officer and volunteer learners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with personnel across EBC to achieve best practice in teaching and supporting learners across online environments and platforms
  • Developing and implementing appropriate educational and instructional design practices and approaches to enhance EBC online capacities and capabilities
  • Leadership, coaching and mentoring of personnel to support excellence in online teaching and student/learner support
  • Technical oversight, ensuring appropriate administration and maintenance of the EBC Learning Management Systems (LMS) for Higher Education and Vocational Training and integrated systems
  • Providing excellent support for students/learners and EBC personnel teaching online
  • Managing and lead the Online and Distance Learning Team including an Instructional Designer, 2 x eLearning Specialists and 2 x Online Education Support Officers and an AV/IT Technician.

About you:


You are an enthusiastic, hands-on individual with extensive experience in online learning and you will bring your proven track record in providing extraordinary customer service to the role.


  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate qualifications in an applicable field and at least 5 years' experience in online education/learning (Higher Education and Vocational) and educational technologies, or extensive relevant experience
  • A strong understanding of university, vocational training, and professional development/training online learning environments
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work consultatively and collaboratively
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated online learning technology and systems expertise including the Moodle LMS and educational/instructional design knowledge
  • Experience leading and supervising staff
