It is a contract job for 6 months with a view for another 12 months extension.

Reporting to the Project Manager - you will be responsible for developing valid and accurate bid and project schedules using primavera software.

The job offers excellent daily/hourly rates.

Other roles and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Liaise with Project Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors, Subcontractors, and the Bids and Estimating team to
  • Liaise with the Bid & Estimating team and all relevant key stakeholders to develop project schedules in support of tender submissions.
  • Advise the Project Manager of scheduling/production issues that might impact on key schedule dates.
  • Highlight areas of schedule and cost concern and identify potential actions for improving performance.
  • Ensure data transfer, data coordination between various program management software systems to ensure capture of accurate performance data.
  • Reconcile performance data generated from the systems with real project performance through communication with members of the project team.
  • Prepare and maintain Contract / Task Change proposals (CCP/TCP) and other relevant information in special databases (e.g. Trident, IPESA).
  • Integrate scope variations via CCP/TCPs into existing project schedules including analysis of any impact to the existing program.
  • Prepare regular reports and charts on project schedule progress and project performance in Hours / Cost (Project Scurve, Project cost sell metrics, Project Labour Curve etc.)
  • Carry out analysis of project schedule and cost performance.
  • Assist the Project Manager through resource levelling and other appropriate suitable techniques to identify suitable project execution strategies to reduce execution costs and improve schedule performance.
  • Perform planning support functions including project structure (WBS, WP) creation with relevant documentation in Primavera.
  • Maintain and update cost status of WPs in the ERP in liaison with the Finance team.
  • Assist in ensuring a harmonious work environment in all departments that you are working with by upholding five key values and behaviours aligned to the Leadership Model.

To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

  • Formal qualification in Engineering, Project Management or Project Planning/Control, suitable trade or engineering training and experience or extensive industry experience in related field.
  • Experience in Ship Building / Ship Repair or similar heavy engineering industry and/or civil engineering field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS office suite programs.
  • Demonstrated Analytical skills and Problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative working style.
  • A high degree of attention to detail.
  • Must be an Australian citizen for security clearance purposes, with a baseline security clerance.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise work.
  • Asset knowledge of Naval marine systems.
