Due to our rapid growth and expansion, we are seeking a Director of Process Engineering. This role plays a vital part in leading our technology team, overseeing the development and implementation of advanced solutions. Your responsibilities will involve designing, improving, and integrating chemical processes with bioprocessing, including the use of industrial-scale enzymatic technology.

Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will provide strategic guidance, technical expertise, and leadership to drive our mission of sustainability and innovation forward.

Your leadership will be essential in adapting our core technologies for our new development facilities, with a primary focus on PET and nylon.

This position will require relocation to Canberra, ACT, Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide input for stakeholder-aligned strategy development, setting achievable targets for your team
  • Team Management: Lead, develop, and mentor a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Process Development: Drive efforts to optimize process steps, reduce costs, and ensure product compatibility with existing processes
  • Technology Innovation: Identify trends and opportunities for innovation, integrating novel solutions to address scaling challenges
  • Collaboration: Establish strategic partnerships to accelerate technology development
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations and drive efforts for necessary approvals
  • Project Management: Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery within budget and timeline constraints
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate technical updates to stakeholders at all levels

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Chemical/Process Engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in leading process development and scale-up
  • Expertise in process design principles and project management
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Passion for sustainability and driving positive social impact through technology
