About the role:


Network Rail Consulting is currently hiring for a Systems Integration Manager to join the Digital Systems Program (DSP) with our client, Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW).

Since 2018, we have been a key partner to TfNSW's Digital Systems Program, bringing together technical and operational functions to deliver an ETCS L2 railway for TfNSW's heavy rail network.


The Systems Integration Manager will play a key part within the Digital Systems Program, owning the technical integration and acceptance of engineering systems for the project, including communications, signalling, ETCS Level 2 and Traffic Management System.


What you will be involved in:

  • Working as part of the senior NRC leadership team to deliver system integration outcomes which meet business requirements established by our clients.
  • Lead Integration teams to deliver the business and customer objectives agreed, whilst reviewing & confirming compliance with appropriate company governance, standards, and procedures.
  • Establish and provide guidance on and interpret technical requirements for compliance with statute, system design, national and international standards and industry practice including the identification and recommendation of ways to reduce system costs and reduce construction time without compromising safety or quality.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the planning and implementation of the ETCS Level 2 and ATO ensuring projects are completed within prescribed timeframes and budgets.
  • Monitor planning so that it considers crossprogramme requirements and supports the effective delivery of contracted obligations.
  • Ensuring an AEO process has been followed for the sign off of key System Integrator documentation.
  • Work with Technical Engineering Lead to provide technical expertise and international guidance as required.
  • Lead the delivery of international best practice into the System integrator from other European and worldwide deployments of ETCS L2 and TMS.
  • Lead the production of signalling principles for the Digital Systems Program.
  • Troubleshoot issues as directed by the Project Director and Technical Engineering Lead.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Significant experience of working on ETCS delivery programs in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in Signalling projects, preferably ETCS Level 2, ATO and Traffic Management systems or equivalent systems
  • Knowledge of one or more of the ETCS L2 subsystems (trackside, onboard, FTN, DTRS, ATO, TMS)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Relevant professional and academic qualifications.
Desirable

  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Experience during the development and entry into service phase of new rail infrastructure.
  • Knowledge/experience of working in the Australian rail industry.
  • Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartered status.
