About the Role

This exciting opportunity is available in the stunning Hunter Valley region of NSW, on a residential basis. BHP's Mt Arthur Coal stands as the largest coal production site in the area. Situated just a short distance from Muswellbrook, NSW, we produce premium, clean energy coal for customers both locally and internationally. We are currently in search of Electrical trade qualified individuals to join us as Process Technicians at the Mt Arthur Coal Handling and Processing Plant, working on a 5/4 rotating day/night schedule. Reporting to the CHPP Processing Supervisor, you will utilize your trade skills to ensure the continuous operation of all CHPP streams from the ROM to train load-out. A team player at heart, with a strong focus on safety, you should be capable of building effective relationships across all levels and departments. While previous experience in CHPP is advantageous, it is not obligatory as on-the-job training will be provided.

In this role, you will:

  • Adhere to and consistently implement the standards and procedures that enable you to work safely and efficiently every day
  • Maintain the ongoing operation of CHPP, RAW streams, and Train load-out
  • Conduct fault finding and breakdown maintenance
  • Operate Dozers to oversee stockpiles and load trains
  • Engage in Control Room Operations
  • Ensure grade, quality, and plant throughput targets are met
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for enhancing process and equipment reliability
  • Participate in safety initiatives and report any unsafe equipment
  • Maintain high safety standards at the CHPP

About You

  • Demonstrated dedication to maintaining your own well-being and the confidence to speak up when necessary
  • Proactive commitment to safety practices
  • Australian recognized Electrical Trade qualification (required)
  • Experience working in a CHPP environment (preferred)
  • Experience in Stockpile Dozer Operations (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate within a team setting
  • Capability and willingness to work effectively within a multi skilled team
  • Solid computer literacy
