Principal Technology Officer

The role:

You will be required to support the installation and configuration of software, hardware and/or equipment, and test specific versions of one or more of these products and build, document and implement technical solutions within best practice IM/ICT design and delivery frameworks.


Other key responsibilities include:

  • Utilise appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures.
  • Support the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation planning of IM/ICT changes, including the evaluation of risks to the integrity of specific infrastructure components in proposed implementations.
  • Actively participate in a team of specialist technical resources in the delivery of complex technical solutions.
  • Perform administrative functions and other duties as directed by the supervisor.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrated ability or the ability to quickly learn eHealth Queensland's ITIL Service Management processes, primarily incident / problem / change / configuration management.


  • High level understanding and technical skills in one or more of the following:


Windows 10, Windows 1
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Directory Services (Microsoft Active Directory and Novell eDirectory)
  • Active Directory Group Policy administration and configuration
  • Enterprise printing solutions (Novell iPrint)
  • Demonstrated high level technical expertise evidenced by the ability to provide professional support, advice and solutions

  • Well developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions

Specific Working Conditions:

While not mandatory, relevant qualifications would be well regarded:

  • Microsoft Certification IT Professional
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 Foundation
  • Microsoft Operations Framework 4.0 Foundation
  • Degree in IT or related field
Participating in on-call arrangements may be a requirement of this position. Appropriate remuneration under the Award will apply.
This position may be required to work at different sites.
