The role

_Flexible hours (minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 8 hours per day), one to two days working from home available_


Responsible for delivering a broad range of analytics and data management tasks to support both the Trading Team and the Marketing and Trading division at large.

The role will involve processing and analysing large, complex internal and external datasets from different systems to provide key insights into market trends, and presentation of key findings to senior stakeholders throughout the organisation.

The role will extend to the development of business intelligence tools such as Power BI reports and ongoing contribution to business planning and strategic papers for Executive Management.


Key responsibilities- You must love visualisations. Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel and others.- Be able to create high quality, professional presentations, sometimes on tight schedules.- Strong ability to distil and visualise data to develop insights into house and market trends- Streamline key data collection methods from internal and external sources- Support the Quantitative Analytics team by communicating key actionable insights to decision makers to drive value- Use continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail and accuracy to deliver outcomes to stakeholders- Utilise and continually develop best practice principles in data presentations- Deliver insights which will contribute to profitable decision making across the Trading business

Skills and experience- Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Commerce, Economics, Finance, or other relevant major- Experience in a commercial, trading, consulting, or strategy environment- Capacity to create and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.- Excellent interpersonal skills- An ability to understand complex issues and develop/adapt analytical tools to provide resolutions- Ability to work in an Agile project framework collaborating with the analytics team and other trading department stakeholders- Excellent written communication skills - ability to prepare reports, business plans, and other documentation- Advanced PowerPoint skills- Ability to work with and integrate disparate data sets.

Desirable- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VBA and Power Query- Understanding of trading fundamentals, supply and demand models and commodity balance sheets- Experience working in a physical grain trading operations environment- Understanding of futures and financial derivatives- Intermediate programming experience in either R or Python- Proficiency with SQL scripting- Applied understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) principles (e.g. SSIS)- Experience working with Azure cloud services- Exposure to Microsoft Power Automate- Increase productivity through the automation of data workbooks, BI reports, and other analytical tools- Exposure to scripting in an open-source programming language (e.g. R or Python)
