Position Information:


Scone High School is situated in the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW and is a comprehensive, secondary school with an enrolment of 330 students, of which 20% are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

The school has a growing specialist support unit, consisting of three classes, an extensive Agricultural farm and modern teaching facilities, creating the greatest learning opportunities for all students.

Selection Criteria:

  • Approval to teach Personal Development, Health, and Physical Education (PDHPE) and approval and/or willingness to teach Community and Family Studies and Sport, Lifestyle & Recreation.
  • Capacity for effective classroom management, and practices that support an inclusive learning environment, which promotes positive relationships with students.
  • Ability to work collegially as part of a team, and a willingness to contribute to whole school and extracurricular programs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ensuring success for Aboriginal students through engaging teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a faculty to write assessments and learning programs while making a positive contribution to the team environment.
