About The Role

  • Participate in social planning activities by conducting social research, evaluating social impacts, strategizing social infrastructure development, reviewing social policies, and implementing projects to address social issues.
  • Follow the guidelines outlined in the NSW Work Health Safety Act 2011, the Work Health Safety Regulation 2017, and the Work Health and Safety (WHS) System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in essential activities related to social planning in the Local Government Area (LGA), including research, community consultations, plan supervision, and progress reporting to stakeholders.
  • Provide information, resources, and support to the Human Services Sector in Blacktown LGA.
  • Collaborate with government entities to ensure coordinated planning and service delivery for the community, particularly in alignment with the Council's Social Plan.
  • Conduct social research, impact assessments, infrastructure planning, and policy reviews.
  • Offer professional advice to the Council on community needs, challenges, and government initiatives.
  • Work with the Community Development Team to enhance services and facilities in the LGA.
  • Meet job requirements and achieve objectives outlined in the Community Development business plan.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in social science, social planning, or related field.
  • Demonstrate significant experience in community development or social/community planning.
  • Possess a valid class C driver's license.
  • Previous experience in Local Government settings.
  • Knowledge of the Human Services Sector within the Local Government Area.
