  • Laverty Pathology is part of Healius' Pathology division, one of Australia's leading providers of private medical laboratory and pathology services. We operate about 100 medical laboratories and 2,000 patient collection centres across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. Each year, we provide one in every three pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia's largest and most complex private and public hospitals to small and remote Australian Aboriginal communities.
    About the role
  • We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Supervising and directing the day-to-day operations of the collection centres, including rostering, performance monitoring, compliance, and meeting service standards.
  • Dealing with the daily operational issues and problemsolving
  • Identifying training needs and tracking performance and ongoing competency of collection staff in conjunction with the Collection Training and Development Coordinator
  • Coaching and motivating staff
  • To be proactive in the process of recruitment, training and ongoing support for employees
  • To be the first point of call for collection staff
  • Payroll time and attendance management of staff hours through Kronos
  • Liaise closely with the Business Development Manager and Marketing Liaison Officer in reporting any Doctor/Health Professional queries that may affect business development within the allocated area.
  • Compliance and adherence with Laverty Pathology policies and procedures and Workplace Health and Safety procedures.
  • To actively be involved in the operational setup of any new collection centres
  • To be active in reinforcing to all collection staff in your area, the best practice policy, NATA, N.P.A.A.C and Medicare Australia guidelines
  • Be an active participant/facilitator in staff and management meetings

About you

  • To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
  • A NSW Drivers licence
  • A background in Pathology is essential
  • A minimum 5 years experience in Venepuncture is essential
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in staff rostering and leave management
  • Experience in auditing and compliance monitoring
  • Possess strong people management skills with previous supervisory experience, excellent organisational, problemsolving, troubleshooting and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Collections team, referring Doctors, Patients and Managers, both written and verbal
  • Ability to take directives from senior management
  • Be proactive, capable of working autonomously, and enjoy challenges
  • Be able and willing to working flexibly, including weekends where required, to meet the business needs
  • Be able to prioritise and work under pressure; and
  • Be able to maintain a high degree of discretion, confidentiality and professionalism.
