Theatre Orderly

About the Role

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking an Orderly to join the team in a casual role. As an Orderly, you will work as a versatile member of the clinical team, providing non-clinical support to contribute to safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include patient transportation, limited patient care tasks, general assistance in clinical departments, and cleaning duties.

The Mater Private Hospital Mackay has been delivering exceptional clinical and pastoral care to the community since 1927. The hospital features a modern 105-bed facility with five operating theatres, a fully equipped day surgery unit, and a variety of specialized clinical services.

Salary Range: $32.09 (OOL2) per hour plus superannuation, 25% casual loading, and access to not-for-profit Salary Packaging

What You'll Be Doing

• Transfer and porter patients following mobility equipment guidelines
• Relocate equipment and furniture as necessary
• Assist in patient positioning and movement
• Courier items between departments
• Support basic patient care under supervision
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of hospital areas

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Current CPR certification
• Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in a similar role preferred
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and infection control practices
• Proficiency in digital technology and Microsoft tools
