Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.

What you'll be doing


The Integrated and Community Health (ICH) Emergency and Disaster Project Officer will support the development and implementation of Disaster Control & Emergency Management - Plans and infrastructure within ICH.

The Project officer is responsible for the development of a robust operational plan that will support management of an emergency or disaster that can potentially occur at any of our ICH facilities onsite or off site.

The project officer will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the WSLHD and ICH in developing a project plan

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Health Service Management or relevant Health Service Management experience and valid NSW Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated understanding of NSW Health Emergency and Response.
  • Experience in project management with the ability to prioritise and meet objectives within project timeframes. Knowledge of change management approaches and methodology and developing change management strategies for groups being impacted upon by change
  • High level written and verbal communication skill, negotiation and problem solving skills with the ability to engage collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills in the development of a positive workplace culture and system redesign
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, troubleshoot and meet short and long term deadlines using initiative and adaptability
  • Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively in a project team within a complex organisation influencing others to move towards a common vision or goal
