The Lead GIS will guide a small team to deliver GIS outputs and data management outcomes for BCI Minerals, including for the Mardie Salt and Potash Project and the Iron Valley operations. The position is responsible for BCI?s data integrity and use in meeting the business? needs, including constraints mapping, and the development of plans and associated deliverables for both data received and released from the External Relations, Projects and Operational teams.

The Role

As the Lead GIS, you'll conduct timely data analyses and interrogation, driving the development, implementation, and improvement of data management procedures aligned with our business objectives and priorities. Your ability to deliver high-quality images and figures will support regulatory approvals, tenure obligations, stakeholder meetings, and land access agreements, enhancing our overall efficiency and compliance.

We're seeking a highly skilled individual to support and assist in the management and maintenance of our digital databases, ensuring the quality assurance and control of various datasets and associated processes. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining the storage of spatial data and ensuring timely retrieval to support critical business operations, you will be dealing a lot with project design within the ministerial framework and environmental constraints, management of ground disturbance to ensure compliance with respect to tenure and environmental constraints.

Collaborating closely with the broader Approvals team, you'll provide timely and effective support to the Mardie project team, preparing maps, plans, and diagrams for ground disturbance permitting, project reporting, and general illustration. You will be required to maintain the Mardie Project map register and providing technical support and training as needed.

Ensuring data integrity within registers and supporting various teams in their GIS requirements, you'll play a crucial role in internal and external reporting, including approvals, board reports, and press release. As part of our corporate culture, you'll actively engage and collaborate with colleagues, supporting them in achieving company objectives while maintaining high standards of reporting on a routine basis and as requested.

About You:

The Lead GIS will have:

• A tertiary qualification in Geographical Science, GIS or Data Science.
• A minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar capacity preferably within the mining sector.
• Specialised knowledge and experience in GIS and related systems including;
  • FME desktop and server.
  • the Esri suite of software including ArcMap, ArGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online

You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.
