About the role

  • Key responsibilities include:_
  • Assist library customers with the use of selfserve kiosks, Wi-Fi, printing and basic computer help.
  • Accurately shelve, shelfread and display collections to ensure that library materials are always accessible and attractive to library customers.
  • Accurately complete records for new members, make alterations to the membership database as required and maintain confidentiality of customer details.
  • Actively promote library services to customers to encourage borrowing, membership, and participation in library events and programs.
  • Assist with library events and programs as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming library environment

About you

You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people, and are committed to outstanding customer service.


  • The following is required:_
  • Demonstrated success in a customer service role.
  • Understanding of the role of public libraries in the community.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations.
  • Good digital literacy skills and ability to learn different systems quickly.
  • Ability to undertake tasks involving lifting, stretching and bending in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Car driver's licence is desirable.
